  • Condition: Very nice Estate find of an iconic Desmond Stephan 4" vise. Everything works as designed. The main screw turns easily and was lubricated (see photos). There is some paint left and would have that cool restored look once cleaned and oiled (or repaint it). It opened to 6.25" (I stopped opening because I didn't want to take a chance, but it had a little more to go). The jaws are 4 1/8" wide. The handle is bent but could be reworked to straight. It weighs approximately 47 pounds. and is 1`7" long closed. The base diameter without the attachment lugs is 7". It's a nice size for all general work. It has a swivel base with a tightening handle. This is just a great looking vise that will have a beautiful patina when finished. The raised lettering is strong and clear.

It is over 17" long closed, has 4" jaws, opens over 6", weighs 47 pounds, and will look great with some oil and a little sanding. Classic shaped American Made Bench Vise. See the photos for the best idea of condition. The screw is shiny and lubricated. Handle could use a straightening or use it as it was bent by years of use. Nice project for those of you who enjoy bringing quality items back to their vintage looks.
