    Description

    June 16, 1885 Colton Patent.  Marked on the front "Phoenix."  Nice heavy base at just north of 15#.  The only other Phoenix vise I found was also marked Homer, NY. As mentioned this is a smooth operator with very tight jaws.  The jaws open to about 3 1/2" and are 2 1/2" wide. Note chip in anvil.  Screw is excellent as shown.  Multi layers of paint, the final being gold.  We call it "The Gold Standard, against which all things are measured."  Came from a nice clean shop.  Please have a look at my other listings for more tools from said shop.  Fits in large flat rate box.
